Well, it's raining, as in thundering hard enough to set off car alarms.

I suppose that means I won't be able to do laundry until later in the week. Shame, that. :-)

ETA: this song is still relevant

Just how there are still kids playing out in the park (squeals are a steady accompaniment to each burst of thunder) is a question worth asking...

Wow, that thunder must be booming. Pippin would be in her crate (her "safe place") if she heard that.

Poor pup. Ours growing up was the same way. When it really got thundering, you'd hear a yelp and a mad scurry of paws from the basement under the house.

To her credit, this was the mountains where thunder could actually get really impressive. Even I was scared once or twice.

The cats on the other hand were entirely nonplussed. They wish to inform you that any activities reeking of fright to any degree were wholly intentional, thankyouverymuch.

(In all seriousness, it always amused me that the cats really were more or less okay with torrential downpour and thunder, given their mortal fear of both vacuum cleaners and water generally. Such is life, I suppose.)

I'm not sure I've ever heard thunder loud enough to set off car alarms (and I can live the rest of my life without the experience - LOL - says she who is heading off for a conference and a week's parking in an OUTDOOR lot).

It's not that unusual around here, actually. Then again this is NYC, and so folks have their car alarms pretty sensitive. Sometimes it seems like if you look at them funnily, they'll get set off. :-)
