Give me a character and I will tell you...

* How I feel about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
* Something about them I consider true, even though it's only my head canon/fanon

***********************

Tolkien's obviously fair game, as is Sherlock (BBC or Doyle), Star Trek, Harry Potter, Swordspoint (first book), Hunger Games, new Doctor Who, Avengers... pretty much anything you've seen me blather on about.

*grin* I actually had DW Rory in mind, though I suppose you might also have thoughts on Rorimac Brandybuck! LOL!

Particularly as in all the fiction I read (+ write), I always end up calling him Rory. Amy's Boy it is, then.

Rory [Doctor Who]
* How I feel about this character: Love him. Since the moment I saw him, and even more than Amy, he always won my heart. He's so smart and indomitable but also so loyal and loving.

* All the people I ship romantically with this character: Amy, of course. :-)

* My non-romantic OTP for this character: You know, I'm not sure i have one. I like the way he and the Doctor go toe to toe, I guess.

* My unpopular opinion about this character: Doctor Who isn't my fandom enough to work out what would be popular or not. But I do think he has a bit of a controlling-Amy problem. The way he and the Doctor talk about her sometimes, it's as if she's something they pass between them. That's Moffat being bad at writing female characters more than anything, though. And knowing what I know about Moffat, I hardly think that particular assessment will earn me any hate.

* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I'd like to know a bit more about his background. It's like his life begins and ends with Amy.

* Something about them I consider true, even though it's only my head canon/fanon: He's more than smart enough to be a doctor. He genuinely enjoys caring for people, and also likes the time to pursue other interests that pop up like his research into the TARDIS, which is why he opted to be a nurse.

Re: Rory [Doctor Who]
I can agree with pretty much everything you say here, although I will say that neither he nor the Doctor were especially good at controlling Amy, however much they tried.

As for your last comment, I think that's true of perhaps the majority of nurses (these days at least of the ones I know) who choose to be nurses because they prefer the direct patient care that few modern doctors experience. I know it's true of the nurse I've been married to for the last 37 years! (Who, come to think of it, has a lot of qualities in common with Rory!)
