new desktop

My desktop now has new wallpaper. Because I am apparently easily amused and a Mycroft fangirl; also, hiatus. No series three spoilers.

Did I actually see a picture of Mycroft in spandex, on a treadmill? Is this really a thing?

A wonderful, spoilerish thing! Have I mentioned that I'm quickly becoming a Mycroft fangirl?

I LOVE Mycroft, and Mark Gatiss and all his works (including his Dr Who writings and appearances).

Oh, I know! I loved the one he acted in, thought he was wonderfully odd, and the few I've seen other credits for have been such a great ride. Makes me wonder where he's been all my life.

The irony is, I typically only go to my desktop to change the picture. But I do like finding new pretties.

So... what'd you think?

I really enjoyed both The Sign of Three and His Last Vow, though I've noticed that more involved fans tend not to have, so much. (I love the characters, of course, but I'm not as invested in them as I would be if Sherlock were one of my Big Fandoms, so I just kind of tend to go along for the ride, yelling, "MOFFAT ENTERTAIN ME NOW!")

That said, while I was charmed by the concept of an episode structured almost entirely around Sherlock's Best Man speech, I thought that the pacing of TSoT was rather inconsistent, and there were several parts that felt superfluous (like the cold open with Sally and Lestrade, and the bachelor party and drunken crime-solving). The mystery also took rather a backseat to the plot machinations and cuteness--I felt like there was a lot more that could have been done to develop the "guest" characters. But the cast was charming and spot-on and everyone looked so lovely and Sherlock ended up being both totally Sherlock and totally sweet, which I didn't know was possible, so I'm not complaining. (I'm not sure exactly when Molly decided to break it off with her fiance, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was "meat dagger.")

(Oh look here are all my favorite parts too.)

It did sort of feel like an episode made up of beautiful gif and screencap fodder strung together, rather than a cohesive 90-minute story, but I was never not entertained.

Okay now His Last Vow!!
