I was going to write a post about why I find people talking about slash writers like they aren't real fans or that their interpretations are somehow by definition wrong so discouraging. That stuff has been getting under my skin lately, for a variety of reasons. I think after Tolkien (which is not nearly as pairing-driven as many fandoms) and Swordspoint (where the homosexual and bisexual pairings are canon) I've been a bit spoiled in that area.
The thing is, I don't actually have to. Because this time I said my piece, was heard and got a positive reply back. So while I think we disagree on how we see these characters, there's at least respect.
